In 2010, the idea to give away TWO free poetry books came to me by way of Karen Maezen Miller and Kelli Russell Agodon in celebration of National Poetry Month.
Last year, I gave away my book (Midnight Voices) and Pablo Neruda’s Twenty Love Poems and a Song of Despair.
This year, I am giving away the following two books:
Midnight Voices by me. I publish 32 Poems Magazine and have had poems appear in New South, The Georgia Review, and other places. You can learn more about my background at my poetry website. If you win, I will sign the book for you and send it to you for Zero Dollars.
Midnight Voices by Deborah Ager
The second book is Mortal Geography by Alexandra Teague. This book is one of my favorite contemporary collections. I will be sad to part with it, and I will buy another to replace it. Please feel welcome to read this sample poem or this poem, which appeared in 32 Poems Magazine.

Dearest Deb, I think that what you do is wonderful. Not everyone is so generous in these turbulent times. I’m a 53 yo female currently rehabilitating in a nursing home after a hospital stay where I was diagnosed with COPD, CHF, and with diabetes from the steroids they gave me……….but, better diabetes than death, eh. Anyway, way back in my youth I dabbled in poetry, had a few publish through school magazines but nothing major. Now that I am a resident @ Keystone Rehabilitation & Health Care, I really would enjoy having a few good lines of poetry to read. I am sorry to have missed this contest. I arrived at 32poems.com when I miss-typed a website name. It’s been a rough go lately, what with full-time school, 30 hours of work, and trying to keep up with the daily ephemera of life. My cousin died yesterday, so on top of everything I’m feeling mighty mortal. My misspelling however, takes me to “Want Me” by Melissa Stein next to the red cover of the magazine, the same color of the sunset I watched from the road at the remote and wild edge of the world along the Delaware Bay. I love serendipity. Thank you!
