NaPoWriMo 2008

NaPoWriMo continues. On April 17th, I will have been writing a poem per day for 30 days. I write the poems quickly, revise very little and move onto the next day. If you ask me what I wrote about yesterday, I’ll likely have no idea. I let it go and move on. A few moments ago, I opened the master Word document of NaPoWriMo drafts and pasted in some new ones. I’d forgotten about many of the earlier poems.

Creating and letting it go seems to work for me. Being able to come back at the poem with fresh eyes helps me with the revision. I can hear and see what needs to be edited.

A few poems I wrote in previous NaPoWriMos were accepted for publication.
