Busy Bees

At the Virginia Discovery Museum in Charlottesville, we saw bees doing their bee thing. Their hive was under thick plastic, and a tube ran from the hive to the outdoors. A two-year-old sat next to the tube and pulled and pulled while his mother tried to get him to stop. The plastic tube moved back and forth under the toddler’s weight. Did I mention there were many hundreds of bees in the tube and in the hive? I had one foot pointed towards the door in case the toddler broke it. Eek.

We visited C’ville this past weekend. The best part is that I may very well do it all again this weekend for the VA Festival of the Book, and I’ll know the layout of the town better than before.

A story from my toddler: Mommy and Daddy and O were on a trip and we got lost and we had to use a map and the map said como esta, como esta como esta.

Speaking of busy bees, I’m putting together the fall issue (we have six poems at least), getting the spring issue ready for the designer (people really like the TOC!) and writing a poem per day. Good times right now.
