I love good poetry news. Erin Keane’s book, Gravity Soundtrack, was selected as a Book of the Year finalist by ForeWord magazine. WordFarm published this poetry collection.

Next week, I start another 30-day Poetry Marathon. During this time, I’ll write one poem per day. This method, wacky as it is, works well for me creatively. I find it’s extremely efficient to batch my activities. I never would have expected batching to work with poetry, so I am surprised.

Those 30-day grinds are wonderful, I think. I know some people gag when they’re brought up, but a lot of my most interesting work came out of those desperate moments when midnight is rolling around and I hadn’t done my poem for the day yet.
I’m back on that horse in May or June. I did five of them in 2007. Great fun.
I’m in the middle of a 30 day marathon. This is my third attempt, and I’m doing rather well. I don’t want to jinx anything!
Yes, I love the 30-day grind. I’m going to increase it more than that this time. I just decided to start on March 17 and continue all the way through April.
Then, I’ll spent May in revision heaven.
