Thinking Blogger Award

Thanks to Sandra Beasley for singling out this blog for a Thinking Blogger Award. I try to think sometimes, so it’s nice to know that someone noticed.

Five of my favorite poetry blogs:

  1. Kelli Russell Agodon: I find her posts to be graceful, thoughtful and peaceful most of the time. I seek all of those qualities in my life, so it’s nice to have a blog to visit to remind me of the important things in life.
  2. Steve Schroeder: He offers a blend of poem drafts, bulleted lists of poetry book contests and so on, and snippets that keep me interested. I love all of his lists and his occasional rants about resume clients. Eduardo has interesting list posts, but I can’t elect him since Sandra already did. Another plus for Steve is that his birthday is the day after mine.
  3. Collin Kelly: This blog discusses everything from American Idol to poetry readings. I appreciate Collin’s opinionated posts and his well-selected cursing.
  4. Amanda Auchter: She posts her stunning poem drafts on a regular basis. I like to visit and see what she’s been writing lately. I even asked for one of the poems from her blog for 32 Poems, and it’ll be printed in the fall. It’s no longer on her blog, so read our fall issue to find it!
  5. Charles Jensen: He probably puts more work into his blog than most of us. He writes reviews of music, movies, poetry. This is what I wrote about him in 2005: “He writes a brilliant post titled The Definitive List of Problems with American Poetry. As if that isn’t enough for one week, he then comes up with his Blogoview question about the first poem we ever wrote. He is on a roll, I tell you.”
