Washington Post Poetry World

The Post declared that the most recent issue of Book World is the Poetry Issue. I only had time for a quick glance…What I noticed was that they had a few reviews of poetry anthologies, including Conversation Pieces: Poems That Talk to Other Poems, Dark Horses: Poets on Overlooked Poems and Dancing With Joy: 99 Poems. Dancing with Joy a larger feature on the poetry of Zbigniew Herbert, and poems from recent books published on Caroline Wren, Overlook, Norton, Greywolf, and Houghton Mifflin. One poem from each of the featured books was published on a two-page spread. Ken Rumble, Eavan Boland, David Shapiro, Meghan O’Rourke, and Grace Schulman were some of the poets whose books and poems were featured.

Nice job, I say! While I wish they would have reviewed more than just poetry anthologies and devoted more space (I had to flip several pages about non-poetry books before I reached the poetry section) to poetry, I can appreciate what they have done here.
