Soon is My Birthday

June 9, 2005

Bill, my sister, and brother-in-law are joining me in Rehoboth this weekend for my birthday. My sister has generously donated her house for the cause, so the four of us will be grilling and eating and having two Chinese pugs crawl all over us while we sleep.

I’ll be reading, playing Skee Ball, drinking the good coffee at Obi’s and, besides that, not doing much of anything. The house is right next to a state park, which is great for hiking when there aren’t people bow hunting. I’d love to hike there, but bow hunting?

By the way, I am Elizabeth Bishop.

You are Elizabeth Bishop
You are Elizabeth Bishop and, God help us, you know
it! You suffer no fools and you cannot even
suffer yourself. No wonder you drink yourself
into a stupor often. You cannot stand the fact
you aren’t perfect.

Hahahahahahahaha! You are the first Bishop I have seen. Too funny. I love Bishop, but that quizilla Bishop statement is kind of mean. Funny though.

My favorite part was about drinking myself into a stupor.

I’m Wallace Stevens.

And I’m not gonna argue with that.

Bummer! Wish we could have stopped in Rehoboth on the way back from West Chester this year! I know the Skee Ball machine there intimately.

Happy Birthday!

Shanna and Robin,

Thanks for the bday greetings!

Robin, the skee ball action was insane this year. Long lines. You have to go at 5 pm or so when everyone else is eating dinner.
