Creative Process

During our craft talk at SUNY Fredonia, Ali Stine told students to try something else when they get stuck. If you get stuck writing a poem, take a photo. Go for a walk. Play a song.

What do you do when you get stuck?

Walking is good, especially with dogs. Imagine the poems they’d write to describe how great the world smells to them.

BTW, Deborah, I have extra copies of my new chapbook, “Lank, Beak and Bumpy,” and if you send me a snail mail address I’d love to share one with you. My thanks for your having such a cool site.
