Find the Poets Who Tweet

September 7, 2009

Collin Kelly had the good sense to compile a list of poets who tweet (on Twitter). We don’t just tweet like a bird for fun. We’re actually tweeting on Twitter in case you’re wondering.

Now, now, if you are going to say Twitter is silly and why would you want to know what someone ate for lunch, then I will have to let you know that I’ve never “heard” someone tweet about their lunch. I’m sure it’s happened at some point, but we’re far too busy tweeting about poems, poetry, tweetups and other poets to talk much about lunch.

(a 2009 post updated in 2010)

Thank you to Collin Kelly for starting this list!

I have found a great many of these poets and started following them. If you would like to add me to the list, its @SavvyVerseWit

That’s for blog updates, interviews with authors and poets, reviews of poetry and other genres, etc.

I’m a recent twitter convert. My first book, out on Fourteen Hills Press, came out November 2009, and I’ve had a twitter ever since.

Title: Tweeting About Lunch
I take a bite with ease.
I first taste the slight sweet richness of…
potato bread.
Then the bitter rush of mustard.
Followed by the nostalgic of American cheese and balogna.
The crunch salivate of a kosher pickle.
I groan in remembrance…
Huh? What…what did you say?
You know better with a mischievous smile…
You can’t reach me, when I’m lost in my lunch.
